“The boat has been refit with “off the grid” extended cruising in mind. The DC electrical layout allows for enough solar power to maintain four batteries, one battery which is dedicated solely to the motor and three batteries which are dedicated to interior lighting and fans, as well as the mast head navigation lights. All lights are LED and the fans require minimum electricity. With sufficient sun light, off the grid cruising is sustainable for weeks at a time. In the event of insufficient sun light, the diesel engine will power all batteries with approximately half a gallon of diesel utilized per hour.”
